A Penalty Shot??? Really?!?! Come On!!!!
Tonight during the Red Wings and Maple Leafs game, Phil Kessel of Toronto Maple Leafs was awarded a penalty shot. He then scored to give Toronto a 1-0 lead. However, I do not feel that Toronto deserved a penalty shot. A simple penalty would've sufficed in that situation. This is not the first time this season, that Detroit has faced a penalty shot. In the November 19th game at the Kings, Anze Kopitar was awarded a penalty shot, but he was stopped by Jimmy Howard. Then in the December 30th game at the Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews was awarded a penalty shot and scored to tie the game 1-1. That penalty shot was not deserved, even the Red Wing's announcers said so. And now tonight Toronto is awarded a penalty shot?!?! I mean come on, let's get real here. Detroit has not been awarded a penalty shot at all this season, and there were some times where they deserved one. How come, to me, it seems like the Red Wings are NEVER awarded a penalty shot, but their oponents are awarded a penalty shot SOME of the time. Maybe it seems that way because I'm a Red Wings fan. Well, that's my 10 cents on the subject. Bye for now.
